Gouda Cheese Awards 2022.

On Thursday 15 September, the most delicious cheese of the Netherlands was chosen during the finals of the Gouda Cheese Awards 2022 at the Gouda Cheese Market. We sponsor this competition and our solutions have also been contributing their part to the prize-winning cheeses for years!

The Gouda Cheese Awards is an important cheese competition in the Netherlands, where consumers taste and judge the cheeses. This year, the most delicious cheeses in the categories Gouda 48+ young and Gouda light matured were chosen. All entries were tasted blind by consumer panels at the beginning of September and only three finalists per category advanced to the finals in Gouda.

On 15 September, the final judgement was given at the Gouda Cheese Market by a VIP jury consisting of Gouda mayor Pieter Verhoeve, Master Chef Rudolph van Veen and culinary journalist Myra Madeleine. On a large stage, they tasted and judged the six nominated cheeses under the watchful eye of the public.

In the category Gouda 48+ young, 't Kaaslokaal from CONO Kaasmakers was declared the winner. Silver went to Royal FrieslandCampina's Gouda Jong Gerkesklooster and Zaandlander from Albert Heijn got bronze. In the Gouda light mature category, Uniekaas 30+ Belegen from Uniekaas Holland won. Silver went to Zuivelfabriek De Graafstroom's Blesckens Finest 30+ and bronze to Royal FrieslandCampina's Milner Belegen. These cheeses can use the title of 'tastiest cheese in the Netherlands' for a year. 

All award-winning cheeses have been treated and/or processed by one of our lines at some point in the production process. We are very proud of this and we would like to congratulate all winners with their prize-winning cheeses!
