CEO for one day.

For one day, 12-year-old Noelia and Hala were the CEO of DERO GROEP! On Thursday January 27, CEO Maro Dedel handed over his duties to these two cool girls for Boss of Tomorrow, an initiative of nonprofit organization JINC.

Together with schools and businesses, JINC gives children who grow up in an environment with significant socio-economic disadvantages a chance at a better future. During Boss of Tomorrow, hundreds of children experience what it is like to be the boss. They make valuable contacts for life and learn how things work in a company. 

On 27 January, Noelia and Hala were invited to be the CEO of DERO GROEP for a day. Maro picked them up from their school in Beverwijk and with some good excitement they drove to Nieuw-Vennep. The new bosses could get straight to work during the drive, because there was an online meeting on the agenda.

Once they arrived in Nieuw-Vennep, Noelia and Hala were shown around the different departments and took everything in. Their first impressions of the company? A team that cares for each other, solves problems together and where everyone can be themselves. And it is big! The girls also enjoy seeing how everyone is working with the machines. 

Of course, being the boss is also hard work. So Noelia and Hala spent the day addressing the question 'How can we interest young people more to work in engineering and automation?' Because no one can answer this question better than young people themselves. The girls came up with some great ideas and it was interesting to learn about the perception of the next generation. An informative and inspiring day for everyone!
