Pre-cut vegetables picker cell.

Pre-cut lettuces and vegetables have become indispensable in supermarkets, and the product range is constantly expanding. Our new picker cell makes it possible to pack these many different products into boxes and crates quickly and fully automatically.

When designing this picker cell, there were several challenges. Not only is there a wide variety of products, but they also need to be placed in different types of crates. Additionally, the machine has to fit on a minimal floor space. With 2 delta robots and an innovative transport system for the crates, we succeeded in developing an efficient and compact solution.

Using custom-made grippers, the robots can handle a wide range of products and place these into the various crates in any desired pattern. The grippers are easy to change, allowing quick changeovers between products.

Furthermore, we designed a user-friendly interface that allows operators to create their own recipes. The operator just needs to enter the product and crate parameters and then the robots determine the speed, insertion pattern and pick-and-place parameters themselves. So new products can be added easily at any time!
