Our drive is to provide the best possible solution for our customers, regardless of the market or application. As a result, we have come to work with various robot brands over the years. After all, no two robots are alike, and every brand has its own strengths and areas of expertise.

For us as a robot system integrator, it’s not so much about which brand we use, but about what you can do with the robot. The decision always comes down to which robot best suits a specific application and a specific environment. Not an easy choice, by the way, because every robot brand has its own specific robot models with their own specifications and their own software platform. And as a robot system integrator, you need all that knowledge to make the right choices and apply the robots correctly. 

A trusted partner 

The robot brand we’ve been working with since the very beginning is FANUC, now the world’s largest manufacturer of industrial robots. The decision to choose FANUC was made 40 years ago and stems from our history at Landré.

Landré already had a strong relationship with FANUC, which at the time was primarily a supplier of CNC machines and machine controls. So when FANUC’s ambitions in the field of robotics became clear and we discovered that FANUC had developed the most advanced robot controller, the choice was quickly made. Since then, FANUC has remained a mainstay in our projects.

Focus on food

When we shifted our focus to the cheese processing industry, we faced new challenges. This sector requires robots that can be cleaned with water and are resistant to harsh environments, something for which FANUC did not have a solution at the time.

Through our collaboration with Morotech, we had already become acquainted with Stäubli, the only robot brand at the time that offered robots suitable for those conditions. Their hygienically designed robots turned out to be exactly what we needed to effectively meet the needs of the food industry. The development of our slicer feeder and de-bagging machine marked the beginning of our partnership with Stäubli, and since then, hundreds of robots have followed. In 2023, we even became Stäubli’s first service partner worldwide.

For heavier-duty food applications, we found a good complement in ABB. ABB has developed special models that are highly resistant to moisture, ideal for robust handling tasks in wet production environments.

Delta robots

When we further expanded our food processing operations with the acquisition of BOSGRAAF, we needed delta robots that were fully washable. The brands we were already using did not offer such models in their product range at the time. Our search led us to Schneider, which had acquired ELAU’s robot program a few years earlier. Their all-stainless steel delta robots turned out to be exactly what we needed for hygienic, wet-cleanable solutions.

New markets, new partners

In recent years, we have broadened our horizons. When we decided to develop new markets, we found Yaskawa to be the right partner to serve the logistics market. Yaskawa has a clear focus on gaining market share in this sector and supports its integrators in this endeavor. They go further than others in this regard, which led us to decide to collaborate with Yaskawa for this market.

The right robot

Every robot brand we work with has its own strengths. But all the robot brands we use are reliable and of high quality; indispensable in an industry where our customers must be able to count on their installations 24/7. As a robot system integrator, it is our job to always make the right choice. Because the robot is not the goal, but the tool. Ultimately, it’s about what you can achieve with it: smart, reliable, and future-proof solutions that help our customers move forward.
