Wrap line innovations

25-11-2025

Wraps are becoming increasingly popular. But as their popularity grows, so do the demands in terms of flavours and presentation. This calls for wrap lines that are flexible enough to keep up with these developments. That’s why the wrap lines from DERO GROEP are being continuously improved.

From snack to meal

With manual rolling, it is difficult to achieve a consistent wrap. Different operators roll just a little differently, which can result in wraps that are rolled more loosely and often cause the two halves not to be the same length. Until now, our wrap lines were set up for wraps with a diameter of 30 to 40 millimetres, and a tight rolling result therefore went hand in hand with a relatively low filling ratio. Thanks to a recent innovation, it is now possible to roll wraps up to a diameter of 48 millimetres. As a result, the filling ratio can almost be doubled, while still achieving a tight rolling result and two equal halves. This shifts the application from compact snack wraps to wraps that can serve as a full meal.

Different cutting options on a single line

Presentation and application can vary greatly. In some situations, an angled cut is preferred, with the filling clearly visible even when the packaging is unopened. Sometimes, however, a straight cut or a wrap that remains completely intact is desired, in order to mimic the look and feel of a burrito.

Where previously only angled cutting was possible, straight cutting is now also an option within the wrap line. In total, the wrap line is now so flexible that cutting can be done without a cut, straight at 90°, or angled at 45°. Thanks to this innovation, an operator can switch in no time and without tools between uncut wraps or wraps cut at an angle of 45° or 90°, enabling easy switching between different product formats and presentations.

Faster cleaning with removable cutting belt

In previous versions, the cutting belt had to be disassembled using tools in order to be cleaned thoroughly. In the improved design, the cutting belt is suspended on one side only, allowing it to be removed quickly and without tools, meaning you as a customer need to spend less time cleaning the line.

Continuous development

These innovations illustrate how new functionalities are developed step by step based on customer requests. Using technical insights and real-world experience, each model becomes better than the one before it. In this way, we continue to innovate based on strong customer relationships and proven technologies, ensuring that our customers are always guaranteed maximum reliability, flexibility, and efficiency.
