To stay future-oriented in the rapidly changing world of technology and mechanical engineering, DERO GROEP collaborates with TechValley. This development platform connects companies and knowledge institutions to learn and innovate together.

The collaboration with TechValley, for example, strengthens our connection with technical educational institutions, such as Inholland and Hogeschool van Amsterdam. This gives students the opportunity to contribute to current business issues. A win-win for both companies and young technical talent. "Through TechValley, we participate in various working groups and we have also been able to start several projects with students," says Maro Dedel, CEO of DERO GROEP.

Automated 'poffertjes' baking machine 

Last school year, for example, four students from Inholland Alkmaar worked on automating the 'poffertjes' (Dutch mini pancakes) baking process at the restaurants of PANCAKES Amsterdam. "During their Machine and Construction minor, the students used their knowledge and fresh ideas to further improve that technology," Maro said.

After extensive research and various tests, students Tim, Taco, Thijs and Luuk delivered a complete detailed design. "We are extremely proud of the final result and hope that future students will continue the project," they say. "DERO's expertise in food-safe design and robotics was a huge asset. This collaboration allowed us to learn a lot and make great strides."

Valuable connection 

This project shows how the connection between business and education, facilitated by TechValley, can lead to concrete, innovative solutions. At the same time, students gain valuable experience in a professional technical environment. "For us, this is a powerful way to continue to innovate as well as give young talent a chance to develop," Maro concludes.
