Flower grading line.

Together with Jamafa Machinery we are working on several innovative projects for robotization within the flower industry. One of the solutions we have developed is a robotized flower grading line for growers. With this line, flowers are automatically sorted using vision and placed in bunches.

The unsorted flowers are manually placed in the product carriers, after which a camera measures the length of each flower. A robot takes the flowers from the product carriers and sorts them into a bunch on a buffer tray. After a bunch with the desired number of flowers has been formed, the robot places it on a Jamafa FlowerLine. There the bunches are cut to length and tied off.

Four to six Fanuc robots are used per line. These robots make the line very flexible and suitable for processing a wide variety of flowers. A good example of how combining knowledge of specialisms results in new useful solutions for the flower processing industry!
